They may be some of the most famous faces in the world, but some celebrities look so similar they could pass for being related - you just might not have realised it yet.

While it may not seem ideal to have a fellow famous doppelgänger, some have been able to benefit from it.

Some have been cast in films as siblings or have confessed to using someone else's name to gain access to exclusive events before they came famous.

Here, MailOnline reveals 28 of the most famous faces in the world and which fellow celeb could pass as their twin.

Kate Middleton and Lauren Conrad

The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, is adored by millions across the globe and has one of the most famous faces in Britain.

But despite her iconic look, many often mistake American TV personality and fashion designer, Lauren Conrad, 38, for the beautiful royal.

Lauren, who is known for her role on Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County, has similar high cheekbones and smile to Kate, 42.

The pair have both sported light brown curly hair in the past and both typically opt for natural-looking makeup.

But it is not even just their looks that are similar, as they are also both married to men called William.

Kate married Prince William in April, 2011, and Lauren tied the knot with her partner William Tell in September, 2014.

And while comparisons of the two beauties have been swirling for years, Lauren previously told Fashionista that she doesn't see any similarity between them.

She said: 'I don't actually see it!'
