Please join us in celebrating June's Shield Spotlight, Sara Blanchfield! ๐ Follow along as we learn more about Sara and her role here with EcoShield...๐น When did you join EcoShield & whatโs your position/role?I joined EcoShield six and a half years ago as a part-time CSR (customer service representative) in Orange County, California. I knew nothing about pest control and chose the job because it was within walking distance of the room I was renting. I thought I would answer phones for EcoShield for 6 months and then resume college in LA for international relations. Six and a half years later, I now serve as the Director of Customer Care at our national headquarters! ๐ ๐น What is your favorite part of your job?The people. EcoShield has made me relentlessly hopeful for humanity because Iโm just surrounded by epic, loving, principled, wicked talented people every day. Everyone on our team genuinely has a good heart and wants to use something as simple as pest control to make the world a little better. Working hard isnโt hard when youโre surrounded by people you love, people who inspire you. (We couldn't agree more, Sara!) โค๏ธ๐น What's one thing you would tell someone who was thinking about working at EcoShield?I would have them genuinely self-reflect and ask themselves if serving others is actually something that makes them happy, fills them up. Ultimately thatโs what weโre here for, genuinely. Iโd also tell them that taking my job at EcoShield 6 years ago was the single most transformative and positive decision of my life. โจ๐น If you could pick just one, what would your "spirit bug" be?Probably a honeybee because they're hard workers but also love a fresh flower. Same girl, same. ๐๐ผ๐น Who would win in a fight: you or a Blister Beetle?I would run far before a fight ever became necessary so, I guess the Blister Beetle? ๐๐น What's your secret talent/a fun fact about you?I can read / write 5 languages - English (sometimes ๐ ), Latin, Spanish, Portuguese and Hebrew, but I can only really speak English / Spanish, with a little bit of Portuguese in my pocket. ๐น What is one word you would use to describe EcoShield?Family. ๐ค

Each month we have been doing a spotlight on one of our employees here at Enviro Trees! This month, we interviewed our Customer Care Team Leader, Carmina Claridad.Read on below, to learn more about the amazing Carmina who runs our Customer Care team.โจ Tell us about yourself in 20 words or less:I'm a people person and naturally outgoing. I take pride in mentoring and helping others develop their own skills. I'm self driven, results-oriented and committed to my goals.โจ What is your role at Enviro & how long have you worked here?I have been working with Enviro for more than 8 years. I started as a Senior Care Operator and advanced into a Team Leader role in 2016, directing, supervising and managing a group of 5 diligent staff. Ensuring the team are motivated, have positive communication, deliver and accomplish goals; and develop to their fullest potential are the important functions I pursue to play.โจ What was your background prior to working at Enviro?I started my career at 2007 as a Customer Service and Technical Support Specialist for HP printers. After 3 years, a twist of fate came and I got job as a Publishing Consultant on a U.S. based publishing firm where I got to critique and advise aspiring authors on their book. Fast forward to 2012, I was a claims specialist for Blue Cross Blue Shield Illinois, providing coverage and health benefit information to health providers.โจ What do you love most about your job?Every day is a new day. This is how I see this job even after 8 years of working. I get to talk and interact to various people, experience new dilemmas and new opportunities for learning. I can literally say, I never had a dull moment.โจ If you could live anywhere, where would it be and why?Australia (other than places in the Philippines.) With the nature of my work, I have acquaintances with Australia's language, weather, places, people, and their attributes. Australians are friendly and inviting, diligent and imaginative.โจ What do you like to do in your spare time?I spend my spare time in the mountains. I climb or take a quick hike to relieve stress and take a break with 'life' issues.โจ What is one piece of advice that has helped you through your career? The harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.โจ Three things you could not live without? My kids, my kids, and my kids.โจ One last thing you would like to share?Vibrancy.#behindthescenessegment #spotlightseries #envirotrees #enviro #customercare #customerexperience #treemanagement Peter Dubiez Kylie Dubiez Phil Wheeler Ashleigh Soady Anthea Gilmore John Studdert Greg Johnson Shridhar Krishnan Jorden Pontin Sam Munro Christiane Patoc

I spent 10 years ( 2009 to 2019 ) working and eventually running one of the biggest chauffeur companies in Los Angeles. The hardest part, hands down, was knowing how to swim with the sharks and not get eaten. There is truly an art one must master in order to work around toxic people. Once one masters this, they usually realize anything is possible, including leaving the "security" of the job itself. Top 5 things I did to work with and coincide with highly toxic people in my corporate office were:1. Show up to work and be on time, and by on time, I mean early.2. Always give a genuine greeting, even if the other person appears to have no interest in greeting you or anyone else.3.Listen closely when they talk about something good in their life and ask them about it whenever you see each other. 4.NEVER get sucked in to talking about someone else by someone else. They will surely tell them you did. Remember, anyone that will talk about other people to you will talk about you to other people.5.Pray for them, be as empathetic as you can to their faults. Do not take their attacks personal, even when they are.

2024 the year of "Horizons." Horizons are Borders without Limits. Looking out to sea, your view is 3 miles, but if you walk up a hill 100 feet, your horizon just expanded to 12 miles. How far are you willing to climb?

Regarding my 15th anniversary at Beaudry Oil and Propane17 years ago, my wife, aware I was disappointed with my career path, suggested I write down what I thought would be the ideal job for me.I took the assignment seriously and spent some time on my list.Included was:-It would have to be a faith based workplace, as I was fatigued from the kind of divisiveness in today's businesses. I believed there could be a competitive environment somewhere while being edifying all at the same time. I just hadn't found it. I never understood the need to add expletives to a sentence to make a point. -It would need to be a place that allowed me flexibility to attend a parent teacher meeting without upsetting my work schedule. Perhaps I could surprise my wife with a lunch date, without disrupting my work day.-It would be a place where I had a voice, not because I have all the answers, but because I have some of them.-They would need someone with marketing ideas, that could pitch an ad or a billboard now and then, that might actually find its way to publication.-It would pay a large enough salary that would care for our family so that we could homeschool when we needed to, travel on mission trips when asked to, and have extra seed to sow when called to.-Back then, we needed a vehicle so my list included a company car, gas card, technology, and any tools I would need that in the past I had to provide, but found difficult to maintain.-Having worked weekends in the past, my perfect job would be Monday through Friday, essentially 8-5 with weekends and holidays off.-Finally, it would have to be a place where I was free to move at my speed which is freakishly different than anyone else's. If we decided to help out a customer...now is good service, while tomorrow is not. Those were the things I wrote on that list. I read it to my wife, folded it in half, and set it in my bedside table...and moved on with my life. Two years later, in December, of 2008, I was offered a sales position at Beaudry Oil and Propane that literally fit every item on my list and a few more. As years went by, promises were made by upper management that came true, such as promotion to Sales Manager, and other opportunities. I work for a company that does not blink if I am found praying for a customer who just lost a loved one to cancer, and that continues to honor a former coworker, years after they've moved on or retired. There is a culture of honor here that can't be explained but needs to be experienced and I'm grateful I have had the opportunity to do so and continue to for years to come. My daughter attends school one block away from my office and potential lunch dates with my bride of 25 years are just 7 minutes away. Our bills are paid, missions are a reality, and... we have seed to sow. This is my anniversary month here at Beaudry and they celebrated me appropriately on the occasion. I just thought it would be right to celebrate them right back.

You asked how I got my job. The truth is that it was through this question,โwho worked on this?โIt all starts with this simple philosophy โWhatever you do, do it well.โOver time, Iโve learned that my work is a reflection of me. I've always believed in giving my best, no matter the task.I allow others see and appreciate my works, either through posting about it on social media or sharing it with friends. Recognition often leads to opportunities. I realized that when people can see the quality of your works, it opens doors you never expected.Don't be shy about showcasing your achievements.Make your work so clean that someone will wonder who worked on it. โPursue excellence and success will follow pants down.โExcellence stands out. In my career, I've strived for excellence in every project, ensuring it's not just good but exceptional. Be thorough. As I continued to produce high-quality work, I noticed something incredible happening. People started to take notice. My reputation for excellence grew, and opportunities started to knock on my door. The question "Who worked on this?" opened doors that led to the job I love today.
