How to Get Memetic Specializations
Unlock a Node Every Five Levels
Once you reach Level 5, you will unlock your first Memetic Specialization node in the Memetics menu, where you can get your first one. New nodes will be unlocked after every five levels, so you can get useful upgrades as you progress through the game.
When selecting a Specialization, you will be choosing from four random ones which cannot be rerolled.

You Can Get Up to 10 Specializations
You can get up to 10 Memetic Specializations in total, as Once Human's max level is 50.
As you level up, try selecting Specializations that you think match your playstyle, as this will help throughout the rest of the game!
Get Identity Tags
If you get two Memetic Specializations that share the same category, you can get an Identity tag which you can show to other players.
For example, getting two Prospector Specializations will give you the Prospector Identity.
How to Reset Memetic Specializations
Use a Specialization Cleaner
If you want to change a previously chosen Memetic Specialization, you can use the item Specialization Cleaner. This will reset a Specialization node, allowing you to choose a new one or stick to the old one if you don't like any of the new selections.
Completing Season Goals will reward you with some Specialization Cleaners, but you are limited to only getting five per season, so use them wisely!
What are Memetic Specializations?
Provide Boosts and Upgrades
Memetic Specializations are unlockable boosts and upgrades that can improve a variety of gameplay elements, depending on which Specialization you choose.
Some Specializations can improve certain facilities or workbenches, which can help you get more resources thanks to increased material yield or better damage to the stats of crafted gear.
Other Specializations also come with new craftable blueprints, which let you make items that increase the number of materials you can get while gathering resources in the wild.
Divided by Types and Categories
Each Memetic Specialization has its own type, which relates to a certain aspect of the game the specialization is improving. For example, Crafting Specializations improve workbenches or give you useful item blueprints, while Gathering Specializations increase materials obtained in the wild.
Further down, Specializations are categorized by what role they belong to. For example, Prospector Specializations are tied to mining and logging, while Star Chef Specializations are tied to cooking.
Can Dictate Your Playstyle
Choosing the right Memetic Specialization can come down to how you want to play the game, as the effects from these upgrades can affect your playstyle once they all add up.
For example, if you're the type of player who wants to easily hoard resources while gathering in the wild, then you can opt to choose Gathering Specializations that increase the yield of materials you can get.
